Some of the most creative people work in advertising and they often poke fun or highlight corporate America to make a point or sell a product. I happen to think Ally Bank’s advertising agency has generated some funny and thoughtful commercials that can help leaders and managers reflect on their performance and skills. Here’s one of their commercials called “Predictions.”

Thomas Sargent, winner of the 2011 Nobel Prize in Economics, is the highlight of this video. Sargent is actually giving an anti-endorsement. He simply denies the ability to predict the future (ironically). It does beg the question that all leaders must deal with: How do you make decisions that impact the future of the business?
At your next staff meeting, watch the video and have a conversation with your team about predicting the future. Here’s a blog article that will be helpful.
