Arianna_Huffington_2012_ShankboneThe high profile meeting of the minds going on at Davos is where you will find our Grounded Leader of the Week. You’ll find her blogging, interviewing, tweeting with and about today’s global leaders, issues and the future.

These days, Arianna Huffington is definitely in a global state of mind.  Her media company, The Huffington Post, chose the 44th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum to launch The WorldPost. A partnership between Huff Post and the Berggruen Institute on Governance, the intent  of this online news outlet is to provide a global platform to bring together a mix of perspectives, from world leaders to young people whose voices might otherwise go unheard.”

A naturalized U.S. citizen, Arianna began her media career with a political blog about US politics. Today the Huff Post is a global media outlet, with editions in ten countries. This growth reflects the hunger for an expanded global conversation and Arianna’s personal desire to be part of the conversation about many global issues like climate change, global health and well being, political governance, etc.  Her sense of global connectedness is evidenced in her own writing, reporting and  leadership. For this reason, Arianna Huffington is our Grounded Leader of the Week.

Key lesson: A global leader is a Global Steward, taking responsibility for contributing to the well-being of your immediate community and the larger, more worldly one.
