This week’s Grounded Leader, Pharrell Williams, had an incredible year. His song, Get Lucky, won big at the 2014 Grammys — Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. He also won Producer of the Year for the hit song, Blurred Lines. In the world of music and entertainment, Pharrell is standing on top (with his big hat).

While the spotlight is where Pharrell shines, his business acumen and leadership is not blurry or dependent on luck. His eclectic and numerous business and philanthropic ventures reflect his focus on productivity, innovation and collaboration. He recently told Fast Company magazine “when you envision success, you should see all the people you work with, in addition to yourself.” Scan through his Twitter account and you’ll see he shares his successes with his employees and collaborators.

His ability to lead through inspiration, his strong collaborative style and his willingness to share success make Pharrell Williams our Grounded Leader of the Week.

Key lesson: Attending to your social health gives you the confidence to be who you want to be in your relationships.
